70-68

Wimbledon 2010 is here, and if I’m lucky I’ll be able to catch the finals of the championship next weekend. This year is a little special for Wimbledon because it marks the first use of a retractable roof on Centre Court.

The Queen visited Wimbledon for the first time in 33 years where she watched Andy Murray beat Jarko Nieminen 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

And finally there’s the epic scoreline by which John Isner defeated Nicholas Mahut

The final scoreline is a whopping 6-4 3-6 6-7 7-6 70-68, played over 11 hours and 5 minutes. While this was more due to both players being better servers than returners (with few rallies exchanged), we do have to admire their tenacity to win and physical stamina to pull off this massive feat.
